EOCC dance club delivered a breathtaking dance performance today at St Joseph’s Catholic College Milperra, showcasing their dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to dance. Every dancer poured their heart into the routine, demonstrating the results of hours of practice, perseverance, and teamwork. Their energy and enthusiasm lit up the stage, leaving the audience in awe of their talent.

This performance was not just about the steps, it was a testament to the students’ determination to push their limits, refine their skills, and give their absolute best. Their hard work was evident in every movement, every turn, and every expression, proving that dedication and effort truly pay off.

A heartfelt thank you to Ms Eva, Ms Gemma, Ms Crowl, and Ms Ianni for their unwavering support throughout Term 2’s Dance Eisteddfod. Their guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in helping the students grow as performers and individuals. 👏

We took home the Encouragement Award. Ben also was selected to lead the audience with a choreography dance on the day.

Today’s performance was a celebration of artistry, resilience, and the joy of dance—a moment to cherish and a reminder of the incredible talent within our community. Bravo to all involved! ✨ 💃 🕺

Our talented Stage 6 students recently embraced the beauty of nature through art, using cotton tips to delicately paint trees with stunning detail and care. Taking their time to bring each tree to life, they explored texture, depth, and movement capturing the essence of nature through their artistic expressions.

This activity wasn’t just about painting; it was a moment of mindfulness, creativity, and appreciation for the natural world. The dedication and artistry of our students truly shine through in their work!

Martha Class had a fantastic time exploring our in-house mini Coles store!🛒

The students were absolutely delighted to learn about the many different skills involved in working at Coles—from stocking shelves to serving customers with a friendly smile. They eagerly engaged in hands-on activities, discovering the teamwork and problem-solving needed in a retail setting.

Most importantly, they had a smile the whole timeĺ! 😊 Their enthusiasm and curiosity made the experience even more special, reminding us of the joy that comes with learning in a real-world environment.

It’s moments like these that make learning truly come to life!

Today, during our staff meeting we had the privilege of listening to Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor Archivist, Carlos Lopez, and OLN Community Liaison, Monica O’Connell about Eileen O'Connor and the profound legacy she leaves with us today.

Eileen O’Connor was a remarkable woman whose unwavering dedication to serving the sick and disadvantaged continues to inspire generations. As the co-founder of Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor, she embodied compassion, faith, and social justice, ensuring that those in need received care, dignity, and friendship. Despite facing significant physical challenges due to a debilitating spinal condition, Eileen’s devotion led to the establishment of a ministry that has provided healthcare, advocacy, and support for over a century.

Her work was rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity and care, regardless of their circumstances. Today, her legacy is carried forward through the Brown Nurses, an independent ministry continuing her mission of service. Eileen’s cause for canonization has also gained recognition, with the Holy See officially acknowledging her as a Servant of God, marking an important step toward sainthood.

At Eileen O’Connor Catholic College, we strive to honour her legacy by giving expression to God’s unconditional and liberating love in all that we do. Our guiding principle is to espouse the inspired and genuine Christian love demonstrated by Eileen, ensuring that her vision of compassion and service remains at the heart of our mission.

The talk led by Carlos Lopez and Monica O’Connell served as a powerful reminder of the enduring impact of Eileen’s work. Her story is a testament to the power of faith, resilience, and selfless love, inspiring us to continue serving with kindness and dedication.
